SPINAL DEFORMITY CORRECTION
Surgical treatment of thoracic spine deformity requires gaining access to the damaged/deformed area via an anterior incision (or less common, a posterior incision). By performing a costotransversectomy, the surgeon gains access to the damaged vertebra and can remove material, graft bone or apply bone graft substitute, as well as install instrumentation to provide support for the spine during and after the healing process. Surgery times will vary considerably depending on the cause and severity of the deformity.

LUMBAR DISCECTOMY SURGERY
A Lumbar Endoscopic Discectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure to remove a portion of the disc and decompress nerves in the lumbar spine. The entire procedure is performed through a small tube which is several millimeters in diameter. The entry site of the tube through the skin is toward the side of the back.
This procedure allows the surgeon to gain access to the disc space without having to make a larger incision and pull back and retract on the muscles of the back.
SPON DYLOLISTHESIS
The word means spondylo = spine, listhesis = to slip. It is slippage of a vertebra over the other.
This slip is seen in lower lumbar spine i.e. between L4-5, L5-S1, L3-4, Other Sites.
But this listhesis can be seen so commonly in cervical spine (sometimes dorsal spine also) after major trauma.

INFECTIONS OF SPINE
The infection of the spine starts usually outside in another and then later spread to the spine through the blood. It usually involves the disc space and produce disc infection (discitis) and then later collapse causing pain. Later, the spine (vertebra) above and below get infected and collapse and bend forward due to the weight of the body causing spinal cord pinch or nerve pinch causing severe pain. After some time vertebrae fuse due to healing in the bent position, thus nerve / spinal cord pinch remains to cause persistent pain.
Infective spondylitis is commonly due to 2 causes:
♦ Pyogenic (Bacterial)
♦ Tubercular (Pott)

Surgery of the spine can often be performed through either an open surgical approach or a minimally invasive approach.
There are advantages in some cases to having a lumbar surgery performed through a minimally invasive approach, while in some cases it is best to use the traditional open surgical approach.
Some procedures that lend themselves to minimally invasive surgery include:
• Lumbar Discectomy/Cervical Discectomy
• Lumbar Fusion/Cervical Fusion
• Lumbar Laminectomy/Cervical Laminectomy
MINIMALLY INVASIVE SPINE

Neck pain is very common. 80% of the population will experience neck pain.To completely know neck pain, we must know the disparity between real neck pain and arm or upper limb pain. Neck pain is usually considered to be pain which stays in the neck while arm or upper extremity pain is pain which travels down the shoulder, arm, and hand.
NECK AND BACK PAIN
The human spine is a complex structure that provides both mobilities (so to bend and twist) and stability (so to remain upright). The normal curvature of the spine has an “s”- like curve when looked at from the side. This curvature allows even distribution of weight and withstands stress.

SLIPPED DISC
Disc herniation means the cushion that sits between the spinal bones (vertebra) is pushed outside its normal position. Since the spinal nerves are in close proximity to these discs, thus the herniation of disc produces problems along with the nerve distribution i.e; electric-like shock or pain goes down along the leg (in lumbar slip disc patients) or arm (in cervical slip disc patients).

FRACTURE SPINE SURGERY

Spinal fractures are various than a broken arm or leg. A fracture or dislocation of a vertebra can make bone fragments to pinch and break the spinal nerves or spinal cord. Most spinal fractures happen from car accidents, falls, or sports. Damages can vary from nearly mild ligament and muscle strains to cracks and dislocations of the bony vertebrae to debilitating spinal cord injury. Depending on how close your damage is, you may feel pain, trouble walking, or be weak to move your arms or legs. Several fractures heal with conventional treatment but, critical fractures may need surgery to realign the bones.
